Terms & Conditions: Café 1904 Inner Circle Loyalty Programme

Welcome to the Café 1904 Inner Circle. By registering for our digital loyalty card at cafe1904.co.za/rewards or by utilizing a physical punch card, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These terms are designed to ensure a fair and rewarding experience for all our loyal guests in Hermanus.

1. Programme Overview

The Café 1904 Inner Circle is a loyalty programme designed to reward frequent diners. The primary mechanic is a "Digital Punch Card" where guests earn one (1) stamp for every qualifying Winter Warmer Special meal purchased. Upon collecting four (4) stamps, the guest is eligible for a R250 Meal Voucher.

2. Eligibility & Registration

  • Membership: Membership is free and open to individuals aged 18 years or older.
  • Registration: Digital registration requires a valid email address. By registering, you consent to our collection of this data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) requirements.
  • Account Limits: Membership is limited to one account per person, however in the case of a Couple with 1 person registered, then a maximum of 2 stamps per visit is allowed. Stamps and rewards are non-transferable and cannot be merged across multiple accounts.

3. Earning Stamps

  • Qualifying Purchases: One (1) stamp is issued per individual "Winter Warmer Special" meal purchased during the promotion period.
  • Valid Times: Specials are available Tuesday through Saturday, from 17h00 until the kitchen closes at 21h00.
  • Verification: To earn a digital stamp, the guest must present their mobile device to a Café 1904 waitron at the time of payment. The waitron will enter a secure PIN to authorize the stamp.
  • Physical Cards: Guests opting for a physical card must ensure it is stamped by a waitron at the time of purchase. Café 1904 is not responsible for lost or stolen physical cards.
  • Retrospective Stamps: Stamps cannot be issued retrospectively. You must present your digital or physical card at the time of the transaction.

4. The R250 Reward Voucher

  • Issuance: A R250 Reward Voucher is automatically generated in the digital app (or validated on the physical card) once the 4th qualifying stamp is recorded.
  • Redemption: The voucher is valid for use on a subsequent visit (your 5th visit or later). It cannot be redeemed on the same evening the 4th stamp is earned.
  • Usage: The R250 value can be applied to any food or beverage purchase at Café 1904.
  • Exclusions: * The voucher cannot be used to pay for staff gratuities/tips.
    • The voucher cannot be exchanged for cash.
    • No change will be given if the total bill is less than R250.
  • Audit Trail: For digital redemptions, a unique reference code will be generated. The guest must present their mobile device to a Café 1904 waitron at the time of the bill being presented, and this unique code will be noted by the waitron to be recorded on the POS system. The waitron will also enter a secure PIN to redeem the voucher and reset the stamps.

5. Promotion Period

The "Winter Warmer" loyalty cycle runs from May 1st, 2026, to August 31st, 2026. Café 1904 reserves the right to extend, shorten, or modify the promotion period with reasonable notice provided via the website and WhatsApp group.

6. Communication & Privacy (POPIA)

  • Data Usage: We value your privacy. Your email address is used solely for account authentication and occasional marketing updates regarding the Inner Circle.
  • WhatsApp Group: Joining the Café 1904 WhatsApp group is optional but encouraged for receiving weekly menus. You may opt-out of these communications at any time.
  • Privacy Policy: For detailed information on how we handle your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

7. General Conditions

  • Café 1904 reserves the right to terminate a membership or refuse a reward if fraudulent activity or abuse of the programme is suspected.
  • We reserve the right to modify these terms or the nature of the rewards at any time. Significant changes will be communicated to members via email or the WhatsApp community.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
